As part of its strategic commitment to strengthening academic partnerships and expanding avenues for scientific cooperation at both the local and international levels, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, chaired an expanded meeting dedicated to reviewing mechanisms for activating and effectively utilizing the agreements and memoranda of understanding concluded between the University and a number of local and international universities and academic institutions. The meeting aimed to maximize their academic and scientific impact and transform these agreements into sustainable cooperation programs and initiatives. The meeting was attended by the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi; the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd; the Dean of the College of Engineering, Assistant Prof. Dr. Ali Shaker Majdi; as well as a number of directors of departments and centers at the University Presidency and relevant colleges. The meeting addressed a range of key areas related to enhancing the effectiveness of academic agreements, foremost among them mechanisms for transitioning these agreements from a formal framework into practical implementation pathways and tangible cooperation programs. Discussions also focused on identifying priority areas of collaboration with partner universities and institutions in ways that generate added value in scientific research, the exchange of expertise and knowledge, training and academic development, academic mobility, and the design and implementation of joint research and educational programs and projects. Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, emphasized the importance of treating agreements and memoranda of understanding as effective instruments for supporting institutional and academic development. He stressed the need to maximize their potential and translate them into measurable practical outcomes and programs, ensuring the achievement of their intended objectives, strengthening the educational and research environment, and opening broader horizons for international cooperation and the exchange of academic expertise and experiences. He further noted that activating academic partnerships represents an important pathway for strengthening Al-Mustaqbal University’s academic presence and enhancing its scientific reputation through the establishment of effective institutional relationships with universities, research centers, and academic institutions both within Iraq and abroad. This approach is aligned with the requirements of modern higher education and global trends in academic and research collaboration.
