In line with strengthening institutional partnerships to support athletic and cultural activities, Al-Mustaqbal University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Department of Physical Education and Sports - Sports Activities Division) and the Directorate of Youth and Sports in Babylon, co-organized the "Naval Heritage, Marathon, and Popular Games Festival," held in Babylon Governorate from September 16 to 19, 2026.
The festival, whose key events launched in front of the historic Ishtar Gate, witnessed significant attendance and broad participation from local youth and athletes. The event's itinerary included an athletic marathon, showcases of traditional popular games, and naval heritage activities, aiming to revive the governorate's rich cultural identity while embedding sports as an essential community practice.
This participation underscores Al-Mustaqbal University's ongoing commitment, under the sponsorship of its President, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, and under the supervision of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, to actively contribute to national initiatives that blend sports with cultural heritage, fostering youth energy and development in an engaging community environment.
