Under the sponsorship of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, and under the direct supervision of the Deanship of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences alongside Lion Gym, in cooperation with the Directorate of Youth and Sports in Babylon, Al-Mustaqbal University is preparing to launch the community sports initiative "Lion Run Babylon Marathon" on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 5:00 PM near the Corniche Bridge (opposite Marina Water City). This initiative aligns with the university's and participating institutions' commitment to supporting youth activities and promoting sports culture across the governorate. The event features an open marathon for all age groups, aimed at highlighting the positive energy of Babylon’s youth and embedding sports as a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. The "Lion Run Babylon" initiative is scheduled to continue regularly every Friday evening at various locations throughout the governorate, supported by broad media coverage from satellite channels and news outlets to showcase impactful efforts that elevate the athletic and youth movement in Babylon
