Al-Mustaqbal University celebrated International Accounting Day through a distinguished academic event held under the patronage and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University. Organized by the College of Administrative Sciences, the event brought together a distinguished group of academic and professional figures, along with a large number of students specializing in accounting and financial disciplines. The celebration was attended by Prof. Dr. Asaad Ghani Jihad, Director General of the Administrative and Financial Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as representatives of accountants’ syndicates from the Middle Euphrates governorates, faculty members, researchers, and students from the Department of Accounting. The event opened with a speech on behalf of the University Presidency delivered by Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision. He welcomed the attendees and emphasized that celebrating International Accounting Day represented an occasion to recognize a profession that has contributed significantly to building a strong economy and strengthening the principles of transparency and integrity in resource management. He also highlighted the university's major research initiatives and scientific forums in the fields of accounting and financial sciences, which form part of its vision to create an academic environment that encourages innovation and expands professional partnerships in ways that enhance the quality of education and specialization. For his part, Prof. Dr. Haider Ali Al-Dulaimi, Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences, delivered a speech emphasizing the college's commitment to developing its academic programs, enhancing students’ academic performance, and strengthening their scientific and professional capabilities. He also praised the efforts of the academic and administrative staff in supporting the college's progress and advancing its academic performance. The event featured a scientific lecture entitled “The Role of Accountants in Supporting Integrity and Transparency and Strengthening the National Economy,” delivered by Prof. Dr. Asaad Ghani Jihad. The lecture addressed the importance of adherence to professional standards and highlighted the pivotal role accountants play in strengthening confidence in financial systems and consolidating the principles of integrity and transparency. The celebration also featured a special artistic performance presented by a group of children, adding an atmosphere of joy and engagement and giving the event a distinctive festive character. The celebration concluded with the presentation of commemorative shields and certificates of appreciation to participants and contributors who helped make the event a success.
