Students of Al-Mustaqbal University concluded their summer training program at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) in the United Kingdom with a specialized scientific lecture addressing the rapidly evolving intersection between cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. The lecture highlighted the key challenges and opportunities posed by intelligent technologies to the security of systems and networks in today’s digital environment. The closing session marked the culmination of an intensive training program that combined academic knowledge with practical applications, aiming to develop students’ technical competencies and enhance their ability to engage with emerging technologies in line with the requirements of digital transformation and the rapid developments taking place across engineering and technology fields. During the final lecture, Dr. Asaad Musa Al-Tamimi addressed several important scientific topics, most notably: • Cybersecurity and Modern Digital Threats: An overview of fundamental cybersecurity concepts, the evolving nature of digital threats and cyberattacks, and their implications for the security of systems, networks, and digital infrastructure. • Cyber Warfare and Protection and Defense Mechanisms: A discussion of the concept of cyber warfare and the main methods of exploiting technical vulnerabilities, alongside an introduction to modern practices for strengthening system security, reducing the risks of cyber intrusions, and ensuring effective responses to cybersecurity incidents. The lecture witnessed notable scientific engagement from the students through discussions and practical questions, reflecting their growing interest in emerging technologies and their awareness of the importance of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence in shaping the future of engineering and digital transformation. In this context, Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen, Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, stated that the conclusion of the program represents the culmination of an intensive scientific training experience conducted at one of the UK’s prestigious universities. He emphasized that the program provided students with a valuable opportunity to gain direct exposure to international academic and technological environments. He further noted that this experience forms part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to expanding international academic cooperation and establishing effective partnerships with leading global universities. Such initiatives contribute to developing students’ scientific, technical, and leadership skills while preparing them for the demands of the labor market and emerging fields in engineering, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. The conclusion of this program represents an important milestone in the international training journey of Al-Mustaqbal University students and reflects the University’s commitment to moving beyond traditional academic education toward global learning experiences that integrate knowledge, practical application, international exposure, and innovation, thereby enhancing students’ readiness to contribute effectively to building a safer, more innovative, and sustainable technological future.
