As part of the College of Administrative Sciences’ commitment to promoting a culture of high-quality scientific research and enhancing academic publishing skills, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Haider Ali Al-Dulaimi, participated in the specialized training course entitled “Notes on Writing and Publishing a Review Paper.” The course was delivered through the Eduba educational platform with the participation of a distinguished group of academics and researchers from various Iraqi universities. The course aimed to introduce participants to the scientific and methodological foundations of writing review papers, highlighting their importance in enriching scientific knowledge and explaining the criteria adopted by reputable peer-reviewed journals when evaluating this type of research. The training sought to enhance the quality of scientific output and increase opportunities for publication in internationally recognized journals. The program provided a comprehensive overview of the principal stages involved in preparing a review paper, beginning with selecting a suitable topic and formulating the research question, followed by systematic approaches to searching, analyzing, and critically evaluating previous studies. It also addressed the organization and presentation of the manuscript in a coherent scientific manner that provides meaningful scholarly contributions while identifying common mistakes that researchers should avoid when preparing review articles. In addition, the course discussed the requirements for publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals, strategies for selecting appropriate journals, adherence to research ethics, and the avoidance of plagiarism. It also presented a range of practical guidelines designed to improve the quality of review papers and enhance their chances of acceptance in internationally indexed databases. The Dean’s participation in this training course reflects the College of Administrative Sciences’ commitment to supporting continuous professional development and strengthening the research and academic publishing capabilities of its faculty members.
