Al-Mustaqbal University welcomed the Holy Month of Muharram by organizing a ceremony to raise the banner of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him) in cooperation with the Holy Hussaini Shrine on Saturday, June 20, 2026, under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy. The ceremony was attended by the University President, his assistants, the Director of the Diwan Affairs Department, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, college deans, faculty members, and university staff, in addition to Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Khafaji, Head of the Academics Syndicate – Babylon Branch. This annual event reflects the university’s commitment to commemorating significant religious occasions and promoting the noble values embodied in the timeless message of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him), including sacrifice, reform, justice, dignity, and steadfastness in defending truth and principles. The university emphasized that organizing such events aligns with its cultural and social mission to strengthen ethical and humanitarian values among students and the wider academic community, inspired by the enduring legacy of the Karbala movement. The ceremony concluded with prayers for the safety and prosperity of Iraq and its people, and for the Holy Month of Muharram to be an occasion that reinforces the values of unity, compassion, peace, and social solidarity.
