Al-Mustaqbal University organized a scientific event on the occasion of the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, observed on June 17, 2026, as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting environmental awareness, and strengthening climate action initiatives.
The event featured a presentation highlighting the university's most significant activities and initiatives carried out by students during the previous spring season, which contributed to combating desertification and mitigating the effects of drought. These initiatives included extensive tree-planting campaigns and the expansion of green spaces across the university campus and its surrounding areas, helping to protect the local environment and reduce environmental degradation.
Faculty members, staff, and students actively participated in these activities, demonstrating their commitment to environmental issues through awareness campaigns and by carrying banners and slogans advocating the preservation of natural resources and environmental sustainability.
The event also showcased the university's hydroponics projects as one of the innovative solutions for conserving water resources and addressing the challenges of water scarcity.
