Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, announced a new international academic achievement as the university secured the first position among Iraqi private universities and ranked third among all Iraqi universities in the U.S. News & World Report – Best Global Universities Rankings 2026–2027, further reinforcing its standing among leading academic institutions at the national, regional, and international levels. According to the latest ranking results, which are widely recognized as one of the world's most prestigious university evaluation systems, eight Iraqi universities were included in the current edition. The University of Sulaimani ranked first nationally, followed by the University of Baghdad, while Al-Mustaqbal University secured third place overall, making it the highest-ranked private university in Iraq. At the Asian level, the university achieved a ranking of 568. It also demonstrated strong performance across several academic disciplines, ranking 771st globally in Chemistry, 666th in Engineering, 696th in Materials Science, and 632nd in Physical Chemistry. The U.S. News & World Report ranking is based on rigorous indicators that assess universities’ academic and research performance using data from Clarivate Analytics. These indicators include global and regional research reputation, research output quality, research impact, citation performance, international collaboration, and excellence across various academic disciplines. This achievement reflects Al-Mustaqbal University's continuous progress in scientific research, innovation, and investment in academic and research infrastructure, as well as its commitment to supporting researchers and enhancing international scientific publishing in line with global best practices and standards.
