The Al-Mustaqbal University Council held its tenth session on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the University Presidency headquarters, chaired by the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and attended by the Council members, including the Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences, Prof. Dr. Haider Ali Al-Dulaimi. The meeting addressed a number of academic, administrative, and strategic issues aimed at strengthening the University’s progress and advancing its developmental objectives.
During the session, the Council reviewed the results of the final examinations across the various colleges and academic departments and emphasized the importance of conducting examinations in accordance with the highest standards of accuracy, transparency, and academic integrity. Discussions also focused on mechanisms for enhancing summer training programs to ensure greater alignment between university learning outcomes and labor market requirements.
The University President and Council members expressed their appreciation for the significant efforts exerted by the examination committees, academic and administrative staff, and invigilators, whose contributions played a vital role in the successful conduct of the final examinations and the provision of a supportive academic environment for students.
The Council also discussed the outcomes of the University President’s recent international tour, which resulted in expanding cooperation with a number of prestigious British universities. Discussions addressed opportunities for developing joint academic and research partnerships, as well as strengthening capacity-building and professional development programs for academic and administrative personnel.
As part of the University’s commitment to keeping pace with rapid digital and technological transformations, the Council launched several qualitative initiatives, most notably the Summer Employment and Training Initiative, designed to invest in young people’s potential during the summer break, and the Artificial Intelligence Culture Initiative, which aims to develop the skills of students and staff members and promote the effective integration of artificial intelligence applications within the university environment.
The Council commended the remarkable success of the First Alumni Forum, held on June 13, 2026, emphasizing the importance of continuing support for graduates and enhancing their integration into the labor market through partnerships with private-sector institutions, as well as activating the role of technology parks and business incubators in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
Furthermore, Council members reviewed the latest developments regarding national and international program accreditation for colleges and academic departments and discussed plans for the upcoming summer activities. The Council approved the joint summer activities plan proposed by the Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications and the Center for Continuing Education.
At the conclusion of the session, the Council stressed the importance of continuing efforts to achieve the University’s strategic priorities, particularly the prompt implementation of official directives, expanding participation in local and international competitions and events, and enhancing the investment of research outputs and innovations by transforming them into practical projects that serve society. The Council also underscored the need to expand community service initiatives and contribute to addressing developmental challenges while supporting sustainable development efforts in Babil Governorate.
