Al-Mustaqbal University Expands Its Global Partnerships Through a Letter of Intent with the University of Reading, UK

As part of its strategic vision to strengthen its international academic presence and establish meaningful partnerships with leading global institutions, Al-Mustaqbal University President, Professor Hassan Shaker Majdi, signed a Letter of Intent with the University of Reading, one of the United Kingdom’s distinguished universities. The signing ceremony was attended by the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in the United Kingdom, Professor Qusai Al-Ahmadi, along with a high-level academic and administrative delegation from the University of Reading. The delegation included Professor Elizabeth Allen, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) and Head of the Global Academy; Professor Keiichi Nakata, Professor of Social Informatics and Director of the Informatics Research Centre at Henley Business School; Mr. Alex Boughton, Director of Global Engagement and Executive Assistant to the Director of External Relations; and Ms. Irem Ozsoy, Senior Regional Manager for International Student Recruitment. The Letter of Intent aims to strengthen academic, scientific, and research collaboration between the two universities through several key initiatives, including exploring opportunities for double-degree and academic progression programs, discussing scholarships and tuition discounts for students, and expanding avenues for joint research projects, knowledge exchange, and academic cooperation. On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, commemorative shields were exchanged between the President of Al-Mustaqbal University and the British delegation, reflecting the strength of the academic relationship between the two institutions and celebrating the launch of this promising partnership. The visit also included meetings between the Iraqi delegation, the University President, and a group of Iraqi students and researchers studying at the University of Reading. The discussions focused on their academic progress, aspirations, and needs, while encouraging them to continue striving for excellence and contributing to the advancement of Iraq through their academic achievements. This agreement represents another important step in Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing efforts to expand its international network, enhance the quality of education and research, and provide outstanding academic and research opportunities for its students and faculty members in line with global higher education standards.
