Al-Mustaqbal University College of Nursing Holds Awareness Activity on the Impact of Cyber Blackmail on Women’s Mental Health

Under the patronage of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Women’s Affairs Division at the College of Nursing, the College organized an awareness activity on Monday, 18/5/2026, entitled “The Impact of Cyber Blackmail on Women’s Mental Health.” The activity aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of cyber blackmail and its psychological and social effects on women, as well as to highlight methods of prevention and ways to address this growing phenomenon. The activity included a scientific lecture delivered by Dr. Burhan Hadi and Assistant Lecturer Noor Fadhel, during which they discussed the most prominent psychological effects resulting from cyber blackmail, including anxiety, stress, loss of self-confidence, and social isolation. They also highlighted the legal and counseling approaches for dealing with blackmail cases, in addition to emphasizing the importance of promoting digital awareness and cybersecurity culture among women. The activity witnessed remarkable interaction from the attendees through questions and discussions, which emphasized the importance of organizing such awareness activities in promoting mental health and protecting society from cyber risks, contributing to building a safer and more aware digital environment.
