“First Euphrates Forum…Challenges & Solutions”
We would like to note that Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, has attended the First International Forum of Euphrates… Challenges & Solutions, which has been congregated under the Guardianship of His Excellency Engineer Mr. Abbas Jabur Al-Maliki, Minister of Agriculture, and being organized by Al-Fajr, A Private Organization for Development & Promotion, with the attendance of Mr. Falih Al-Khazaali, Head of Agriculture & Marshes Parliament Committee, in addition to Deputy Ministers, General Managers, Head of Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Mr. Muaid Al-Lami, and Representatives of International and Local Organizations.
During the Forum, several issues have been discussed, including Iraqi Water Crisis: Causes, Effects & Solutions. Besides, a Documentary Film Addressing Water Crisis has been displayed as well, seeking appropriate solutions.
Scientific Sessions have also been convened, dealing with the Challenges of Drought and Desertification that might contribute in solving the problem of water scarcity, which is equivalent to Food Security
