Chemical Engineering & Petroleum Industries Department of Al-Mustaqbal University was established as per the Ministerial Order No TH/AQ/5032, issued by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research / Department of Private University Education, on 27th July 2017. The Department contributes to providing the Country with Competencies in the Field of Chemical Engineering, seeking with all its capabilities and efforts of its Academics to meet the needs of the National Industry for Engineering Cadres working in the various Industry Fields, including Oil, Petrochemical, Construction, and Food, as well as Pharmaceutical Industries. We should keep in mind that the Department does continue to keep pace with Scientific Development and Openness towards the Edges of Science through the Preliminary Study Specializations given below:
•Oil Refining Engineering; and
•Petrochemical Engineering
Chemical Engineering & Petroleum Industries Department admits Students graduating of the following Studies:
•Graduates of Preparatory Schools, Scientific, Applied and Biological Branches are admitted to Morning Studies with a Grade not less than 72% and a Tuition Fee of 2,750,000 IQ Dinar per Year.
•Graduates of Preparatory Schools, Scientific, Applied and Biological Branches are admitted to Evening Studies with a Grade not less than 65% and a Tuition Fee of 2,750,000 IQ Dinar per Year.
Study Duration is four years and Language of Study is English, after which a Graduate is awarded Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, and he can work at Oil Refineries and petrochemical Complexes, being one of the basic applications of his Specialty.

In its Vision, the Department aspires to graduating Competent and Skilled Engineers in the Specializations of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries, and in accordance with the requirements of National Development. Besides, it seeks to achieve the Department Vision by enriching its Students with Scientific and Applied Capabilities in the following Branches of their Specialization:
•Oil Refining Engineering; and
•Petrochemical Engineering
In these Sub-Specializations, the Department does adopt the principle of high performance and quality that would reflect Creativity and Development in the Field of Chemical Engineering Sciences.
In its Mission, the Department focuses on preparing Engineering Cadres in the Specialty of Chemical & Oil Refining Engineering that would serve Chemical & Oil Industry at both Public & Private Institutions, taking into consideration the latest Technologies, and working meanwhile in the Field of Research so as to manage solving all Industrial Problems that might arise during work
The Department Objectives can be summarized as follows:
1.Preparing Engineers familiar with basic expertise and appropriate knowledge in the specialty of Chemical Engineering and its Technological Developments
2.Providing Graduates with the ability of designing Laboratories and Factories related to Chemical, Oil, and Petrochemical Industries
3.Preparing Graduates capable of operating and managing Laboratories and Factories related to Chemical Engineering Specializations
4.Encouraging Teachers as well as Students to pursue Scientific Research
5.Permanent interaction with the Community by organizing Courses and Seminars that would enhance awareness, importance and culture of this Specialty
