In line with supporting research personnel and fostering academic excellence at Al-Mustaqbal University, researcher Ali Nael Hassan, a member of the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center, successfully defended his Master's thesis at the Department of Energy Engineering, College of Engineering – University of Baghdad, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. The thesis, titled: "Design of MW PV Solar System According to the Daily Real Load Data to Reach Zero Grid Consumption in the First Governmental Building" addressed an applied and critical topic in the field of renewable energy. The research focused on simulating the installation of a solar power system exceeding 3,000 solar panels to generate 1.5 MW of power at the Presidential Palace building in the capital, Baghdad. The thesis was supervised by Prof. Dr. Oday Ibrahim Abdullah and Chief of Researchers Dr. Nasser Kareem Qasim. The examination committee comprised: Asst. Prof. Dr. Muayad Khalil Ibrahim – Chair Asst. Prof. Dr. Ammar Abdul Kadam Fathi – Member Asst. Prof. Dr. Hussain Khalaf Jubeir – Member The examination committee praised the applied significance and scientific rigor of the study, which was culminated by publishing solid research papers indexed within the Scopus database. The defense concluded with awarding the researcher a Master's Degree with Excellence.
