Workshop on the use of solar reflectors

The Energy Research Center, in cooperation with the Deanship of the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a workshop and lecture on the use of solar inverters. The event was attended by the Dean of the College A. M. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdel and many faculty members from the University of Kufa. Hosted by A. M. Dr. Fayez Abdul Muslim to provide a specialized lecture on the use of solar cylindrical reflectors in the heating process, focusing on various heat exchangers. The lecture addressed how to improve the efficiency of heating systems using this modern technology. ### Objectives of the workshop Enhance knowledge about solar reflector technologies. Encouraging cooperation between academic institutions and research centers. Support innovation in renewable energy.

A delegation from the College of Engineering at the University of Kufa visited the Al-MustaqbalCenter for Energy Research.

Visit of a delegation from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Kufa to the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center at Al-Mustaqbal University Assistant Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdel, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, Prof. Dr. Silwan Obaid, Director of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Energy Research, and the Center s staff received a delegation from the University of Kufa, including a number of teachers and researchers: A. Dr. Louay Sadiq Al-Ansari A. M. Dr. Nasr Abdul Amir Jabbar A. M. Dr. Zainab Shaker Radif A. M. Dr. Fayez Abdul Muslim A. M. Dr. Saddam Khalfan Kweis M. Dr. Haider Mohammed Abdul Hussein M. Haider Zuhair Abdul Amir During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the center s advanced projects, innovations and devices, where a detailed explanation was provided on the latest research and technologies used in renewable energy and sustainability. They also discussed ways of scientific and research cooperation between the two institutions to promote innovation and support advanced engineering projects. This visit comes within the framework of strengthening academic partnerships and exchanging experiences between universities to develop scientific research in the fields of energy.

Visit of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering to the Center

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, visited the Al-MustaqbalCenter for Energy Research and gave a practical lecture to students of Mechanical Power Engineering (air conditioning and refrigeration) through working on the devices for solar energy systems inside the center and conducting scientific tests.

The Al-MustaqbalEnergy Research Center signs a strategic cooperation agreement to implement solar energy projects.

Contracting a cooperation mechanism Under the patronage of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdel, we are pleased to announce the signing of a fruitful cooperation mechanism contract between the Energy Research Center represented by the Director of the Center, Prof. Dr. Silwan Obaid Waheed. The agreement included the exchange of experiences in solar energy solutions. The organization held training courses and specialized seminars in this field. In addition to developing an appropriate plan to train university students in an applied and practical manner, including the design of solar energy systems, connectivity methods, and maintenance. We believe this collaboration will enhance student capabilities and enhance the University s role in renewable energy, opening new horizons for innovation and development in this vital sector.

Conclusion of the first training course in industrial control using PLC and HMI

On Sunday 9-02-2025, the first practical training course specialized in modern industrial control using programmed logic controllers (PLC) and HMI screens - Level 1, concluded in cooperation between Future University - Energy Research Center and Babylon University - Faculty of Engineering. Course Topics: 🔹 Introduction to Industrial Automation and Delta PLC Component Recognition. 🔹 Detailed explanation of the physical parts of PLC units, and methods of linking with sensors. 🔹 Install ISPsoft and learn about Data Types and Memory Map. 🔹 Programming Timers and Counterers, and Analog Input Module. 🔹 Recognize HMI screens and link them with programming, with a practical project design that mimics the labor market

Opening of the Third Clean Energy Forum

The forum opened with the Iraqi national anthem, followed by welcoming speeches by the university presidency, the Deanship of the Faculty of Engineering and the UN representative in Babylon. In his speech, Assistant Scientific Officer Dr. Abbas Al Bari discussed future visions in scientific research and innovation, stressing the importance of facing challenges and turning them into opportunities for academic growth and development. Assistant Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdel-Governor of the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, where he reviewed Future University s pioneering initiatives in the fields of energy and environment, pointing to the importance of integration between scientific research and applied projects to achieve sustainable development. For his part, the UN representative in Babylon province delivered a speech addressing pivotal issues including energy, agriculture and the environment, highlighting the current challenges facing these sectors, which added an international and global dimension to the forum s activities.

Energy Forum Dialogue Sessions

First Panel Discussion This session was moderated by Prof. Dr. Kazem Fentel Sultani, and included a series of lectures presented by a group of academics and experts: • Prof. Ali Abdel Abbas Al-Bakri, Chairman of the National Council for Program Accreditation for Technical Engineering Education at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, presented his lecture entitled: "Iraqi patents and their role in the sustainable development of the water and electricity sectors." • Expert Dr. Naseer Karim Kassem, Chairman of the National Team for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Projects at the Prime Minister s Office, addressed in his lecture the topic: "Smart solutions in the face of the electric power crisis." • Prof. Dr. Abdulhadi Nehme Khalifa, from the Central Technical University - Faculty of Technical Engineering in Baghdad, delivered his lecture on: "The feasibility of using the home photovoltaic panel system in Iraq." • Mr. Farouk Hassan Ali, from the University of Babylon - Faculty of Engineering, spoke in his lecture about: "The Effectiveness of Solar Cooling in Iraq and the Arabian Gulf Countries: Developments and Challenges." This session focused on the most prominent challenges and opportunities associated with the development of renewable energy sources, stressing the importance of cooperation between academic and industrial sectors to achieve sustainable development. Second Dialogue Session Moderated by Prof. Dr. Qusay Rashid Abdul Amir, it included four specialized lectures presented by a group of academics: • Prof. Dr. Mohammed Fadel Al-Daoudi, from Al-Qadisiyah University - Faculty of Engineering, addressed in his lecture the topic of: "Biofuels towards a green and safe energy Al-Mustaqbal." • Assistant Professor Dr. Samer Mohamed Abdel Halim, from the University of Babylon - Faculty of Engineering, delivered his lecture on: "Use ammonia as a renewable fuel in internal combustion systems." • Teacher Dr. Hassan Mowaffaq Ghani, from Al-Mustaqbal University - Future Center for Energy Research, presented in his lecture: "Prospects and future of electricity generation in Iraq." • Teacher Dr. Sabreen Sabah Toman, Director of Modern Irrigation Technologies at the Directorate of Agriculture of Babylon, talked about: "Sustainable agricultural methods to address water scarcity caused by climate change in Iraq." This session highlighted the latest technologies and innovations in clean energy, and reviewed successful pilot projects that are a practical guide to the implementation of renewable energy solutions at the local level. Attendance of academic and government figures The forum witnessed the presence of heads of departments and experts in this field from the universities of Karbala, Babylon, Kufa, Qadisiyah, and the Central Technical University, in addition to a group of important figures from government and private institutions, most notably: • Eng. Sarmad Al-Awadi - Director of Middle Euphrates Electricity. • Eng. Hussein Shamkhi - Director of Petroleum Products Company. • A number of managers of administrative units in government institutions. • Mr. Ali Kamouneh - Representative of the United Nations in the province of Babylon. "• Director of ""Cell""" Solar Energy Solutions in Babylon. The presence of these personalities has enriched dialogue and exchange of experiences, enhancing the importance of cooperation between various entities to achieve a Al-Mustaqbal vision based on clean energy and sustainability.
