Joint cooperation between Al-MustaqbalUniversity and Malaysian University of Technology (UM)

Joint cooperation between Al-Mustaqbal University and UM University Malaysia Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, a. dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, under the supervision of the Deanship of the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technologies and the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Energy Research, held an electronic meeting in the presence of: Mr. Dean of the College, a. M. dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul and A. dr. Silwan Obaid Waheed. Director of the Center and Eng. dr. Hassan Mowaffaq Ghani, Assistant Director Harikrishnan Al Rahmiah for the Energy and Industry Research Center at UM Malaysia, which is one of the leading universities, ranking first in Malaysia and 60th globally according to the QS ranking. The cooperation mechanism between the two sides was discussed, where preliminary approval was reached on several topics, including: 1. Research cooperation: strengthening partnership in the fields of scientific research. 2. Joint supervision: exchange of experiences and supervision of research projects. Solutions to industry challenges: working to develop innovative solutions to industry challenges. This cooperation aims to enhance knowledge and exchange experiences, which contributes to the development of scientific research and achieve positive results that benefit both sides

The Center Director attends a qualitative workshop on QS international rankings.

The Director of the Center attends a qualitative workshop on QS global classifications. Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, and under the guidance of the Deanship of the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, the Director of the Center, Prof. Dr. Silwan Obaid Waheed, attended a qualitative workshop delivered by Mr. Rami Odeh, Regional Director of QS Ranking in the Middle East. On February 23, 2025. During his workshop, the lecturer touched on several topics, including the importance of universities entering the QS ranking by studying indicators related to education and teaching, infrastructure, and academic reputation. He stressed the need to internationalize academic reputation and openness to international educational institutions, pointing out that interaction with leading universities contributes to raising the level of education and scientific research. The lecturer added that the data collected on Al-Mustaqbal University confirms its continuous success in implementing the policies set by the university, where it has made remarkable progress in this classification, and ranked first among Iraqi universities. Higher education was a key pillar for sustainable development, and enhancing the quality of education and scientific research contributed to building an advanced knowledge society. This step comes within the Center s policy to ensure the strengthening of the university s position in the international rankings, through its partnerships with international universities. The pursuit of academic excellence is not just an goal, but an investment in the future of future generations, reflecting the University s commitment to equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to meet modern-day challenges.

Visit of a delegation from the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center to the Chinese company SSTDC

A delegation from the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center at Al-Mustaqbal University, headed by the Director of the Center, Dr. Salwan Obaid Waheed, and the Assistant, Dr. Hassan Muwafaq, and the Center’s staff, visited the Chinese company SSTDC. SSTDC is one of the solid and reliable global companies in developing the energy sector. Through this cooperation, a new branch of the company will be opened in Babil Governorate, which enhances research and development opportunities and provides an advanced educational and practical environment for university students.The Director of the Center, Dr. Salwan Obaid Waheed, pointed out the importance of cooperation in supporting innovation and sustainability, stressing that these agreements contribute significantly to enhancing the use of solar energy in serving the Babylonian community in particular and the Iraqi community in general, in line with the goals of sustainable development and contributing to reducing dependence on traditional energy sources. Al-Mustaqbal University appreciates this distinguished step and confirms its commitment to developing education and scientific research.Developing education and scientific research, and building strategic partnerships with international institutions to serve the local and international community.

Middle Euphrates Technical University visits the Future Energy Research Center

Visit of the Technical College - Middle Euphrates Technical University / Al-Musayyib to the Energy Research Center at Al-Mustaqbal University The Energy Research Center at Al-Mustaqbal University received a delegation from the Technical College - Middle Euphrates Technical University / Al-Musayyib on a scientific visit aimed at exchanging experiences and reviewing the latest technologies and research projects in the field of renewable energy. During the visit, the delegation toured the center, where they reviewed the research devices and equipment used in the study and development of renewable energy systems, such as solar panels, energy storage systems, and energy efficiency technologies. A detailed explanation was also given of the most important research and applied projects being worked on by the Center, which aim to improve the use of natural resources and promote sustainability. The visit was characterized by fruitful scientific discussions between researchers and students, where they exchanged ideas on the challenges facing the energy sector in Iraq, and ways to enhance research cooperation between the two universities. The delegation of the Technical College expressed their admiration for the center s infrastructure and the level of development in the projects being implemented, stressing the importance of such visits in expanding student horizons and supporting scientific research.

Visit of the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center to the Baghdad International Fair

A delegation from the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center visits Baghdad International Fair to enhance cooperation with local and international companies Under the guidance of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, a delegation from the Future Center for Energy Research at Al-Mustaqbal University, headed by Dr. Silwan Obaid Waheed, and the assistant of Dr. Hassan Mowaffaq, along with a staff from the Center, visited the Baghdad International Fair on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. This visit comes as part of the Center s strategic plan to conclude partnerships and cooperation agreements with local and international companies participating in the exhibition to promote energy research and development. Dr. Silwan Obaid Waheed stressed that the visit witnessed a wide response from many international companies wishing to cooperate with the Future Center, pointing out that communication with these companies will be continued to conclude agreements in the interest of the Center, and contribute to the development of the energy sector and enhance sustainability.

Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center Hosts Solar Free Lights Company to Train Engineering Students in Support of Sustainable Development Goals In support of the Sustainable Development Goals and the promotion of applied education, the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center hosted Solar Free Lights to organize an integrated training program for engineering students, in the context of achieving Goal 7 (Ensuring universal access to clean and sustainable energy) and Goal 17 (Strengthening partnerships to achieve the goals). The course was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, and the Director of the Energy Research Center, Dr. Silwan Obaid, along with a number of faculty members and sustainability teams at the college, in addition to participating students. The program aims to provide students with practical knowledge about solar energy technologies and systems, including the design, installation and maintenance of solar panels, as well as renewable energy applications, enabling students to acquire the skills needed to support the transition towards sustainable energy. This initiative comes within its strategy to enhance cooperation between academic and industrial institutions, in order to achieve the effective partnership between higher education and the private sector, which is one of the main pillars of SDG 17. For its part, Solar Free Lights Company expressed its happiness to participate in this initiative, stressing its commitment to supporting and qualifying students to be part of the transition towards clean and sustainable energy. This training is part of a series of scientific events organized by the Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center to qualify engineering cadres to keep pace with global transformations in renewable energy and promote effective partnerships to achieve sustainable development.

Energy Harvesting Workshop

Workshop on Energy Harvesting The Energy Research Center, in coordination with the Deanship of the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a workshop and lecture on energy harvesting. M. Dr. Zainab Shaker Radif in the presence of the Dean of the College A. M. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdulmohim, Director of the Center and a number of professors of the University of Kufa. The lecture focused on the basic methods used to harvest energy from its various sources, especially harvesting energy from vibrational motion using besoalectic materials, which convert kinetic energy into electrical energy. The presentation was liked by attendees, and an initial cooperation mechanism was agreed with the Center in the fields of energy and scientific research. These lectures are part of the Center s plan to attract researchers and provide facilities to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and consolidate scientific research. I aimed. Channel 4 visits the Energy Research Center

Channel 4 visited the Energy Research Center, where she met with the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technologies, Assistant Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdulmohim. The visit aims to get to know the center closely and learn about its activities and events to support scientific research and community service, especially in the field of renewable energies. The Dean stressed the importance of the Center in promoting the use of clean energy sources such as solar, wind and bioenergy. The Centre plays a vital role in the rapid shift towards clean energies as a sustainable solution to environmental and economic challenges. He added that one of the most important goals that the center seeks to achieve is 1. The center conducts advanced research in renewable energy technologies, which contributes to the development of innovative solutions. 2. We offer training programs and workshops for students and professionals, to enhance their skills and understanding of renewable energy technologies. 3. We are building partnerships with academic and industrial institutions, to share knowledge and expertise in renewable energies. 4. We seek to spread awareness about the importance of using clean energies by organizing events, lectures, and seminars. 5. We participate in the implementation of applied projects aimed at improving energy efficiency and applying new technologies. Through these activities, the Energy Research Centre plays a pivotal role in promoting environmental sustainability and supporting the transition towards a renewable energy economy. These efforts also reflect the Center s commitment to meeting community needs and promoting innovation in sustainable energy.
