Al-Mustaqbal University Achieves Remarkable Global Progress and Tops Private Iraqi Universities in Webometrics Ranking

Al-Mustaqbal University has recorded a new academic achievement that strengthens its advanced position in higher education, after ranking first among private Iraqi universities and third among all Iraqi universities, according to the results of the global Webometrics ranking, which included 128 public and private universities in Iraq. At the international level, the University achieved a remarkable qualitative leap in its global ranking, advancing from 3224th to 1967th place worldwide, gaining 1257 positions in a single ranking cycle. This progress reflects the rapid development of the University’s academic, research, and digital performance, as well as its growing presence in the global academic arena. This achievement is attributed to the integrated institutional efforts exerted by the University in supporting high-quality scientific research, enhancing academic publishing in internationally recognized databases, in addition to developing its digital infrastructure and improving the performance of its websites and electronic platforms in line with Webometrics criteria. In this context, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, stated that this achievement is the result of teamwork and the spirit of collective effort adopted by the University, praising the outstanding efforts of the academic and administrative staff. He emphasized that this progress serves as a strong incentive to continue excellence and to attain more advanced positions in both local and international rankings. Dr. Majdi also noted that the University is proceeding with the implementation of its strategic plans aimed at enhancing the quality of education, developing high-quality scientific research, increasing international publication rates, and improving digital performance, thereby contributing to better ranking indicators and achieving sustainable academic accomplishments that reinforce the University’s regional and international standing. Director of Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University Discusses Final Preparations for the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation Forum

The Director of Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Nidhal Al-Abadi, discussed the final preparations for the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation Forum, which will be held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi. The meeting was attended by Dr. Ferial Ibrahim Al-Zhafiri and Assistant Lecturer Noor Thamer Mahmoud. Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications Holds the Scientific Committee Meeting of the Arab Artificial Intelligence Forum

The Scientific Committee of the Arab Artificial Intelligence Forum (MUCE_IQ) held its meeting under the chairmanship of Dr. Mudhafar Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific Supervision, with the participation of the committee members, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Nidal Khudair Al-Abbadi, Director of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, and Dr. Silwan Obaid Waheed, Director of the Energy Research Center. During the meeting, scientific and organizational preparations for holding the Arab Artificial Intelligence Forum were discussed. The forum is organized by Al-Mustaqbal University in cooperation with the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, and under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi. The forum’s themes and scientific objectives were also reviewed, aiming to enhance scientific research, expand academic cooperation, and exchange expertise in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital transformation, in line with modern technological developments. In this context, Al-Mustaqbal University invited researchers, academics, and interested participants from inside and outside Iraq to take part in the Arab Artificial Intelligence Forum, which will be held at Al-Mustaqbal University from January 25–26, 2026, to serve as a distinguished Arab scientific platform for exchanging ideas and expertise, and highlighting the latest research and applications in the field of artificial intelligence. Engineer Ahmed Salim Mongar has received a Letter of Appreciation and Gratitude from the Library of the Holy Abbasid Shrine, in recognition of his scientific and cultural initiative represented by donating his scientific book entitled: “Investigation of a Smart Infant Incubator with Multi-Sensor Control System.” This donation is considered a valuable addition to the library’s scientific collection, as the book includes specialized research in the field of smart technologies and multi-sensor systems, particularly in medical applications related to smart infant incubators.
