Al-Mustaqbal University Welcomes First International Delegation Participating in the 2025 Future Week for Sustainability Festival

In a warm and academically vibrant atmosphere, Al-Mustaqbal University welcomed its first international delegation today, marking the beginning of the 3rd edition of the International Future Week for Sustainability Festival 2025, which is set to officially launch tomorrow, Wednesday, April 16, and continue through April 24. Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, personally received the delegation from Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University in Turkey, which included Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet (University President), Prof. Dr. Mehmet KILIC (Vice President), Leyla AKBULUT (Head of the Department of Energy Management & Sustainability), and Prof. Dr. Atilgan. A number of senior academic and administrative figures from Al-Mustaqbal University were also present at the reception. The visit commenced with a comprehensive tour of the university campus, covering academic halls, specialized laboratories, and service facilities. The visiting delegation was introduced to the university’s advanced infrastructure and stimulating learning environment, reflecting its strong commitment to modern educational standards and sustainable development. During the visit, a formal discussion session was held between the two universities. Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi expressed the university’s interest in activating the Memorandum of Understanding previously signed with Alanya Alaaddin University and expanding areas of collaboration—particularly in sustainability, scientific research, and academic exchange. Prof. Dr. Muzafar Sadiq Al-Zuheiri, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, delivered a detailed presentation about the university's structure, academic achievements, and pioneering initiatives supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He also proposed practical ideas to deepen bilateral cooperation between the two institutions. Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education Extend Letters of Appreciation on the Occasion of Iraqi Academics Day

On the occasion of Iraqi Academics Day, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, extended letters of appreciation to academics, staff of the Ministry of Higher Education, and all Iraqi universities, in recognition of their outstanding scientific and educational contributions that have strengthened the position of higher education and research in Iraq. The 1st Babylon International Conference on Countering Intellectual Extremism and Terrorism Launches with Wide National and International Participation

Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the First Babylon International Conference on Countering Intellectual Extremism and Terrorism officially commenced on Monday, April 14, 2025. The event was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ameen Al-Yasiri, President of the University of Babylon, and Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, with the participation of the University of Al-Hillah and a distinguished group of local and international academics and researchers. The conference aims to promote values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence while offering scientific and practical strategies to confront extremism. It also emphasizes the pivotal role of educational institutions in cultivating a moderate intellectual discourse that rejects violence. In the opening speech delivered on behalf of Al-Mustaqbal University’s President, Prof. Dr. Ammar Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Law, highlighted the importance of the event as a collaborative platform uniting efforts of universities, government institutions, and civil society organizations in combating extremist ideologies.
