Ministerial Committee Visits Al-Mustaqbal Center for AI Applications and Commends Its Academic and Technical Excellence

As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s ongoing efforts to evaluate research centers and monitor their performance, a high-level ministerial delegation from the Department of Research and Development visited the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University on Monday, July 1st, 2025, to assess the center’s readiness and compliance with national academic standards. The delegation was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Dr. Abbas Al-Bawei, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi, Director of the Center, along with the center’s distinguished research and administrative staff. The ministerial delegation included: Asst. Prof. Dr. Sinan Hussam Mahdi – Assistant Director General for Scientific Affairs / Department of Research and Development Asst. Prof. Dr. Essam Abdulwahid Hashem – Director of the Center for Research and Information Rehabilitation / University of Kufa Asst. Lecturer Mohammed Rafeed Ahmed – Representative from the Department of Entrepreneurial Project Management / Department of Research and Development During the visit, the committee toured the center’s laboratories and research halls, where they reviewed the modern equipment, advanced infrastructure, and innovative projects being implemented. The delegation expressed their admiration for the center’s rapid progress, as well as the expertise and dedication of its staff in advancing AI applications for community benefit. At the conclusion of the visit, the committee extended their deep appreciation for the efforts of the university and the center’s leadership, affirming the Ministry’s continued support for initiatives that strengthen the center’s position as a pioneering research institution, and that promote applied research and strong university-industry-society collaboration. 🔷 Al-Mustaqbal University – The top-ranked private university in Iraq

Continuing the Summer Internship: Mobile App Development with Flutter

As part of the Summer Internship Program for students of the Colleges of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and the direct supervision of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, an advanced training session was held on Monday, June 23, 2025, entitled: “Mobile App Development Using Flutter”, delivered by programmer Sarah Sadoon Abbas, a member of the center’s technical team. This session served as a continuation of previous introductory sessions on Flutter and focused on more advanced topics, such as: Interactive UI design using Flutter Widgets. Building a practical To-Do List application. Screen navigation using the Navigator widget. Managing app state with StatefulWidget. The session featured a live coding demonstration that students can expand into a practical project as part of their internship, contributing to their technical development and readiness for the job market. Minister of Higher Education Awards Certificate of Appreciation to the President of Al-Mustaqbal University for His Outstanding Efforts in Supporting Education

On May 27, 2025, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, a certificate of appreciation was awarded to Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, in recognition of his valuable efforts and distinguished contributions to advancing the educational process at both academic and administrative levels. Mobile Application Development Using Flutter

As Part of the Summer Training Program… Al-Mustaqbal University Hosts a Lecture on Mobile Application Development Using Flutter As part of the Summer Training Program for students of the Faculties of Engineering and Technical Technologies, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, with the direct supervision of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for AI Applications, a training lecture was held on, June 21, 2025, entitled: "Mobile Application Development Using Flutter", delivered by Programmer Sarah Sadoon Abbas, a member of the center’s team. The lecture introduced the core concepts of mobile app development using the Flutter framework, including environment setup, coding in Dart language, and hands-on examples that allow students to build their own applications. This training session is part of the university’s commitment to bridging theoretical knowledge with practical skills, and contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). As part of the ongoing Summer Training Program for students of the Faculties of Engineering and Technical Technologies, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and with the direct supervision of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, a technical lecture was held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, entitled: "Using Distance Sensors with Microcontrollers", delivered by Eng. Mohammed Saad Abais. The lecture covered both theoretical and practical aspects of distance sensors, demonstrating how they interact with microcontrollers such as Arduino. Practical examples were shared to showcase real-world applications in robotics, automation, and smart systems. This session aimed to enhance students' skills in embedded systems and sensor integration, supporting the university's efforts to bridge education with practical innovation and contributing to the achievement of SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and with the direct supervision of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, a specialized lecture was held on Wednesday, 18th June 2025, as part of the university’s summer training program for students of the Faculties of Engineering and Technical Technologies. The lecture, entitled "Fundamentals of Working with Arduino and Programming It", was delivered by Eng. Mohammed Saad Abais, who introduced students to the core principles of Arduino technology, methods of microcontroller programming, and practical applications in smart systems and engineering innovations—such as robotics, automation, and the Internet of Things (IoT). This event reflects the university’s commitment to enhancing students’ practical and technical skills, contributing to the achievement of the 4th Sustainable Development Goal (Quality Education) and the 9th Goal (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). Al-Mustaqbal University Organizes a Scientific Symposium on “Artificial Intelligence in Ophthalmology” with a Distinguished Contribution by Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi

As part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to preparing its graduates—particularly from the Department of Optical Techniques—to meet the demands of the modern job market, and in accordance with the directives of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, the Department of Optical Techniques, under the patronage of Assistant Professor Dr. Zahraa Haleem Al-Qaeem, Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, organized a scientific symposium entitled: "Artificial Intelligence in the Field of Ophthalmology." The symposium aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education), and aimed to explore the latest applications of artificial intelligence in medical fields, particularly eye care. Among the most notable lectures delivered during the symposium was the presentation by Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi, Director of Al-Mustaqbal Center for AI Applications, titled: “Artificial Intelligence and Vision Science.” In his lecture, Prof. Dr. Al-Abbadi showcased cutting-edge AI technologies used in diagnosing eye diseases and emphasized the role of AI in enhancing medical decision-making and improving the quality of healthcare services. His presentation was met with great interest and interaction, reflecting his extensive expertise and the strategic importance of integrating AI into medical disciplines. Other lectures included: Prof. Dr. Mustafa Rajab Al-Najjar from the Middle Technical University, who presented: “The Future of Medicine Amid AI Challenges.” Lecturer M.M. Ali Hadi Muaydi from Al-Mustaqbal University, who presented: “Using AI in Measuring Corneal Thickness.” At the conclusion of the symposium, Dean Dr. Zahraa Al-Qaeem expressed her appreciation to all speakers and participants, commending the pioneering role of Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi and his leadership at the AI Applications Center in promoting interdisciplinary innovation. Summer Training Program – Microcontrollers (Arduino)

As part of the Summer Training Program organized by the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University, the third lecture in the training series was delivered on Monday, June 16, 2025, by Engineer Mohammed Saad Abis, a member of the AI Center’s technical team. The lecture focused on the topic of Microcontrollers (Arduino), presenting detailed explanations and hands-on demonstrations on how to program microcontrollers and use them in interactive smart systems. The session covered sensor integration, circuit implementation, and project development techniques. The primary goal was to enhance the students’ technical and practical skills in this vital field, which forms a foundation for applications in artificial intelligence and robotics. The session witnessed active participation from students, who engaged with practical questions and discussions—demonstrating strong interest and comprehension of the material. This reflects the effectiveness of the training program in fulfilling its educational and applied objectives.
