Both Departments of the Chemical Engineering & Petroleum Industries as well as the Technical Medical Labs at Al Mustaqbal University College have organized a campaign for planting trees The environment, where water, air and food are available, is quite essential for man so that he could live and survive. Marine plants, for example, produce annually more than half the amount of Oxygen in the atmosphere. We should note as well that a single tree purifies the air by consuming 22 kilograms of carbon dioxide every year and meanwhile producing the same amount of oxygen instead. However, the dreadful exploitation of man to his environment has been leading gradually to destroying natural resources. We are required therefore to create awareness among people about the dangers of such unwise use to the natural resources, and keep on working to protect environment. In accordance with this trend, the United Nation has chosen the 5th of June of every year since 1974 as a World Environment Day, which aims to increase awareness and activities that are related to the protection of environment, focusing at the same time on the issues that might affect people and economic development all over the world. It is considerable to note that more than 150 countries participate in celebrating this day every year, represented by their governmental and non-governmental institutions with the aim of supporting environmental issues and creating plausible grounds that shall lead to increasing the green areas, establishing healthy environmental systems, confronting climate changes and bringing to a halt the deterioration of biodiversity.
