Under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Building Technology and Construction Engineering, the department’s lecturer, Dr. Muhammad Latif, conducted a seminar entitled (Social Perceptions of Homosexuality among University Students), where his summary was that the phenomenon of sexual deviations is one of the negative societal phenomena that both developing and developed world countries suffer from. However, the phenomenon varies in severity, spread, and forms from one society to another according to the cultural and social specificity of the societies, and it cannot be separated from the conditions experienced by human societies across varying periods of time and civilization, because the true measure of sexual deviations is the cultural background and social standards of Traditions and systems prevailing in a particular group of people. Homosexuality represents a form of sexual deviation, as a person's inclination for a person of the same sex, and this extends to include emotional attachment or attraction to this sex. In the end, the students were urged to follow the correct Islamic approach.
