Within the activities of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences – Al-Mustaqbal University College in serving the civil society, which is one of the requirements of Sustainable Development, the Football Academy for Children was established on 1/8/2022 and for two years with the aim of educating children aged 10 to 16 years old Football arts and skills in cooperation with Al Mahaweel Sports Club by using the available stadiums in the club.
The Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences - Al-Mustaqbal University College continues to follow up its activities for the Children’s Football Academy in Al-Mahaweel Sports Club and under the supervision of the department’s academic staff, where a set of applied studies were applied to the Al-Mahaweel Sports Club Football Academy.
The idea of establishing this academy came to raise the physical and technical capabilities of the children and to identify tools and supplies must be provided during the training so the children master the basic skills in football and work on the team spirit, companionship and acquaintance between the different groups of society to reach a conscious, understanding and peer love generation within the academy and to be away from unwanted aspects and behaviors, as it is the duty of the academy to raise the scientific level in addition to the skill aspect, which is one of the priorities of good learning for children and this applies to The university should serve civil society and achieve the requirements of Sustainable Development Goals.
Prof. Dr. Mazen Hadi Kazar, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences – Al-Mustaqbal University College, stated that the Department professors should be involved in training within this academy, in addition to qualified trainers who were hired from Al Mahaweel Sports Club.
Target groups: Babel community children of all ages, males, and training will be three days a week (Sunday - Tuesday - Thursday) at five in the afternoon on the courts of Al Mahaweel Sports Club
