"Inauguration of the English Language Department at the College of Education: A Step Towards Sustainable Education and Future Development"

In the presence of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, along with university professors, new students, and faculty members, the College of Education inaugurated the English Language Department, which officially commenced operations at the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year.<br />During the inauguration ceremony, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Rawdhan, welcomed the attendees in his speech, emphasizing that the importance of this department lies in developing students’ linguistic and academic skills, opening vast opportunities for them in research and the job market (Goal 4: Quality Education).<br />In his remarks, the Head of the English Language Department, Lecturer Dr. Salam Hassan Al-Asadi, highlighted that the department’s curriculum aligns with international standards, ensuring the graduation of highly qualified professionals who meet the demands of the modern era.<br />The establishment of this department represents a step towards enhancing employment opportunities and economic development, as it improves graduates’ chances of securing jobs in various fields such as education, translation, media, and international relations, strengthening their competitiveness in both local and global job markets (Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth). Additionally, the college seeks to establish academic partnerships with local and international educational and research institutions to organize workshops and training programs that aim to develop students’ skills and enhance opportunities for cultural and scientific exchange (Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals).<br />The event concluded with welcoming speeches from the faculty members, who reaffirmed the importance of lifelong learning and the role of the English language in shaping a promising future for students.
