The Department of Biology at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, held a scientific seminar entitled “Forensic Plant Anatomy and Its Applications at Crime Scenes,” presented by student Marwa Hussein Atiya under the supervision of Lecturer M.M. Jaafar Hamed Jaafar, as part of the Plant Anatomy course for second-year students. The seminar addressed the use of scientific knowledge of plant structures and anatomical characteristics in forensic investigations. It highlighted how botanical evidence can contribute to crime scene analysis and provide indicators that may support criminal investigations. The seminar aimed to broaden students’ scientific knowledge, introduce them to contemporary applications of plant anatomy, develop their research, presentation, and discussion skills, and connect theoretical concepts with practical applications across various scientific fields.
