In light of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the continuous acceleration of technological advancement, there is an increasing need to modernize academic curricula and research pathways within Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies departments to align with future requirements and labor market demands. Traditional theoretical instruction alone is no longer sufficient to address emerging technological challenges. Instead, it has become essential to integrate advanced virtual and practical laboratories that simulate real-world cyberattack and defense scenarios through Cyber Ranges, while providing students with hands-on training in digital forensics tools and ethical penetration testing. Such approaches contribute to strengthening students' practical competencies and professional capabilities. In scientific research, particular importance should be given to promising technological fields, including the security of connected vehicle systems (V2X), the protection of fifth- and sixth-generation networks (5G/6G), and the development of encryption technologies resistant to quantum computing through Post-Quantum Cryptography. Strengthening the integration between academic institutions and the actual needs of the labor market represents a fundamental step toward preparing a generation of engineers and researchers capable of innovation and developing sustainable and effective security solutions to address future cybersecurity challenges and keep pace with global digital transformations.
