The Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies Department at the Technical Engineering College of Al-Mustaqbal University continues its efforts to promote digital awareness and introduce students to the fundamental concepts of system and network protection through educational content highlighting cybersecurity processes and key techniques for countering cyber threats. The content outlines the main stages of cybersecurity, beginning with identifying assets and risks, followed by implementing protective measures, detecting attacks, responding to incidents, and ultimately recovering and restoring systems. It also explores essential network security concepts, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, network segmentation, wireless network security, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and the Zero Trust principle. Furthermore, the content emphasizes the importance of following sound security practices, such as regularly updating systems, using strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and monitoring suspicious activities, all of which contribute to reducing digital risks and strengthening data protection. This initiative supports technical education and the development of specialized knowledge, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by promoting awareness of modern technologies and the importance of protecting digital infrastructure.
