Department of Forensic Science at Al-Mustaqbal University Organizes a Scientific Workshop Entitled “From the Cell to the Crime Scene: The Role of DNA in Revealing the Truth” As part of its ongoing scientific activities aimed at enhancing academic knowledge and developing students' research skills, the Department of Forensic Science at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, is organizing a scientific workshop entitled “From the Cell to the Crime Scene: The Role of DNA in Revealing the Truth,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Howaida Nazzal Hussein, on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. The workshop will explore the scientific importance of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and its essential role in criminal investigations. It will address the genetic structure of human cells, DNA extraction and analysis techniques, and the application of DNA profiling in human identification and linking biological evidence to crime scenes. Furthermore, the workshop will highlight modern DNA analysis technologies used in forensic investigations, emphasizing the importance of proper collection, preservation, and handling of biological samples to prevent contamination and ensure reliable laboratory results.
