As part of its efforts to promote environmental awareness and reinforce the principles of sustainability, the Civil Engineering Department at Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness activity entitled “Water Is the Treasure of Life… Protecting It Is Everyone’s Responsibility.” The activity was presented by Assistant Lecturer Farah Hamid Abdulkhudhur, with the participation of a number of second-year Civil Engineering students. It aimed to promote a culture of water conservation and highlight the importance of water as an essential resource for sustaining life and achieving sustainable development. The activity included raising students’ awareness of the importance of rationalizing water consumption in daily life and explaining the environmental and economic consequences of water waste. It also emphasized the need to adopt responsible practices that help reduce excessive consumption and preserve water resources for future generations. Furthermore, the activity highlighted the vital role of civil engineers in protecting water resources through the efficient design of water distribution networks, reducing leakage, improving water supply and drainage systems, and implementing sustainable engineering solutions to address water scarcity challenges. These efforts contribute to strengthening students’ professional and environmental awareness and preparing them to help address future water-related challenges. This activity is part of the Civil Engineering Department’s ongoing efforts at Al-Mustaqbal University to support environmental awareness initiatives and encourage students to promote sustainability and social responsibility.
