As part of Al-Mustaqbal University's commitment, represented by the Department of Radiology Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, to strengthening students' practical skills and linking theoretical knowledge with clinical applications, Mr. Haider Abdul-Kareem Majeed and Dr. Lamis Abdul-Rahim Nabat organized a scientific visit for students of the Department of Radiology Techniques to Al-Hillah Teaching Hospital. The visit aimed to develop students' scientific and practical skills and provide them with an opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the working environment of healthcare institutions and the use of medical imaging technologies in diagnosing various diseases and medical conditions.
The visit included a field tour of the medical imaging departments, during which students observed a range of diagnostic equipment, including X-ray machines, ultrasound systems, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners. They also learned about the basic operating principles of these devices, their major medical applications, and their role in providing accurate diagnostic information that helps physicians identify medical conditions and determine appropriate approaches to patient care.
The visit witnessed meaningful scientific interaction between the students and specialized medical staff, allowing students to ask questions and make inquiries about technical and clinical aspects of medical imaging. They also gained insight into the nature of work within medical imaging units, as well as the importance of adhering to occupational safety procedures and quality standards when performing diagnostic examinations.
This visit is part of the scientific and educational activities that the Department of Radiology Techniques at Al-Mustaqbal University is committed to organizing, recognizing the importance of field training in preparing specialized graduates equipped with the scientific knowledge and practical skills required to work in healthcare institutions. Such initiatives also contribute to broadening students' scientific horizons, strengthening their confidence in their abilities, and preparing them to keep pace with the rapid developments in medical imaging technologies, in alignment with the university's objectives of advancing the academic and professional standards of its students.
