As part of its efforts to promote health literacy and raise awareness of preventive practices, Assist. Lecturer Zahraa Abees Ali conducted an awareness workshop on Saturday, October 24, 2026, entitled “Blood Viscosity: Causes, Symptoms, Complications, and Prevention Methods.” The workshop addressed the concept of blood viscosity, the factors affecting blood properties and flow through blood vessels, and the importance of health awareness in reducing risks associated with blood disorders. The workshop reviewed the main factors associated with increased blood viscosity, signs that may require attention and medical follow-up, and potential health complications. It also emphasized the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle, maintaining adequate hydration, following medical recommendations, and undergoing necessary tests based on professional medical assessment. Furthermore, the workshop highlighted the importance of medical evaluation and appropriate laboratory tests in diagnosing elevated blood viscosity, emphasizing that symptoms alone are insufficient to establish a diagnosis. This approach reinforces awareness of the importance of accurate diagnosis and appropriate medical management. This workshop is part of ongoing awareness activities aimed at promoting prevention and early detection, strengthening individual health responsibility, and fostering health literacy to support the well-being of individuals and the wider community.
