Under the auspices of the Deanship of the College of Engineering Technologies, and under the supervision of a group of distinguished faculty members... The Electrical Engineering Technologies Department organizes a scientific field visit to the Hydroelectric Power Plant at Al-Hindiya Barrage.
Under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, the respected Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, and within the college’s continuous pursuit to enhance the academic path and elevate the applied and academic standards of students, the Electrical Engineering Technologies Department organized a scientific field visit to the Hydroelectric Power Plant at Al-Hindiya Barrage. The initiative aimed to enhance students' engineering knowledge and bridge theoretical concepts with practical applications in electrical power generation.
The field visit was conducted under the supervision of teaching and technical staff in the department, represented by:
Assistant Lecturer Ali Imad Naji
Assistant Lecturer Ali Abbas Muhammad
Teaching Assistant Ali Naji Radi
Teaching Assistant Haider Karrar Hussein
The tour included a field orientation on the operational mechanisms of the hydroelectric station, exploring the engineering principles employed to harness water power for electricity generation. Students were also introduced to operating systems, machinery, and technical equipment used in production processes, providing them with direct field experience and insight into real-world engineering applications.
This initiative reflects the commitment of both the Deanship of the College and the Department Headship to support scientific and field activities, expand students' knowledge horizons, develop their practical skills, and bolster their understanding of technical challenges in the electrical energy sector. Furthermore, the visit underscores the importance of engaging with vital facilities in the energy domain—particularly in renewable energy—to cultivate competent engineering personnel with the requisite scientific and practical expertise to serve the market and develop infrastructure.
