As part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to raise environmental awareness and develop scientific skills in water resources management, a scientific workshop entitled “Water Dynamics: Simulating a Water Basin Crisis” was conducted. The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Zahraa Hussein Mohammed, with the participation of Assistant Lecturer Farah Hameed Abdulkhudhur and Assistant Lecturer Saif Salam Saud.
The workshop addressed methods for simulating crises affecting water basins, highlighting the impacts of drought, climate change, and human activities on the availability and sustainability of water resources. It also emphasized the importance of applying simulation techniques and scientific analysis to understand water-related challenges, assess their impacts, and explore appropriate solutions to water scarcity and the more efficient management of available resources.
The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ abilities to analyze water resource challenges, develop scientific thinking skills, and propose sustainable solutions. These efforts contribute to supporting integrated water resources management and addressing the growing environmental and climate-related challenges.
This workshop aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) by promoting the sustainable management of water resources, as well as Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action) by raising awareness of the impacts of climate change and encouraging scientific solutions to adapt to these changes and mitigate their effects on water resources.
This initiative is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing efforts to support scientific and awareness-raising activities that promote sustainability, encourage scientific research and analysis, and strengthen the role of academic institutions in developing solutions to environmental and water-related challenges.
