In an effort to promote digital security awareness and encourage safe information protection practices, the Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies Department at the Technical Engineering College organized an awareness activity addressing two key topics: “Building a Secure Environment: Why Is a Password Alone No Longer Enough?” and “Emergency Response Protocol: What Should You Do in the Event of a Cybersecurity Breach?” The activity highlighted the importance of enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), using strong and unique passwords, managing application permissions, and securing personal accounts and devices. It also introduced the essential steps for responding to cybersecurity incidents: isolation, containment, reporting, and documentation, with the aim of minimizing damage, protecting data, and ensuring appropriate responses to cyber threats. This activity contributes to strengthening students’ technical awareness and cybersecurity skills, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).
