The Communications Engineering Technologies Department at the Technical Engineering College of Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness activity to combat drugs on October 20, 2026, at Al-Mustaqbal University. The activity was organized by Assistant Lecturer Hassanein Alaa, Assistant Lecturer Burair Imad, and Ms. Hiba Ali. It aimed to enhance students’ awareness of the dangers of drug abuse and its health, psychological, and social consequences, as well as its negative impact on individuals, families, and society. The activity included raising awareness of the dangers of drugs, emphasizing the importance of prevention, and strengthening the role of young people in addressing this problem by promoting health education and positive behaviors. It also encouraged students to demonstrate awareness and responsibility and to avoid anything that could threaten their safety and future. This activity aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by promoting health awareness, educational values, and social responsibility. Through these awareness initiatives, Al-Mustaqbal University, ranked first among private universities in Iraq, reaffirms its commitment to strengthening educational and humanitarian values, contributing to the development of a conscious generation capable of addressing societal challenges, and promoting a culture of prevention to protect young people from the dangers of drugs.
