The Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized an awareness campaign entitled “A Word Can Change a Life: Together Towards a Bully-Free University Environment” on Saturday, 17 October 2026. The campaign involved distributing educational brochures to students across the university campus under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Wurood Raouf Abdulhussein and Assistant Lecturer Ali Hussein Ali. The campaign aimed to raise awareness of bullying and highlight its negative effects on mental health and academic performance, while introducing students to its various forms, including verbal, physical, social, and cyberbullying. It also encouraged students to adopt positive behaviors, such as speaking kindly, respecting others, accepting differences, and promoting a culture of cooperation and tolerance. The activity emphasized the important role students can play in preventing bullying by supporting affected colleagues, standing against abusive behavior, and refusing to remain passive bystanders. These efforts contribute to building positive relationships among students based on mutual respect, support, and solidarity. This initiative is part of the Civil Engineering Department’s ongoing efforts at Al-Mustaqbal University to promote awareness and strengthen humanitarian and social values among students. It also contributes to creating a safe and positive university environment founded on respect and cooperation, reaffirming the belief that change begins with a kind word or a responsible action that can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
