As part of its efforts to introduce scientific disciplines and raise academic awareness among prospective students, the Department of Biochemistry at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, organised a promotional campaign at the University Admissions and Registration Department to familiarise newly admitted students with the department, its academic programme, and the scientific and practical opportunities offered by the field of biochemistry.
The campaign was conducted by Asst. Lect. Ahmed Mohammed Yousif and Asst. Lect. Haider Yahya Breihi, who provided new students with an introduction to the Department of Biochemistry, its curriculum, and the importance of studying the chemical and biological processes that occur within the human body. They also highlighted the relationship between biochemistry, laboratory investigations, scientific research, and medical applications.
The campaign further aimed to explain the academic and professional relevance of the discipline, particularly its applications in healthcare, medical laboratories, and scientific research. These introductory activities helped students gain a clearer understanding of the nature of their prospective university studies and the role of biochemistry in advancing biomedical sciences.
This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to strengthening communication with newly admitted students, supporting informed academic choices, and contributing to the university’s efforts to welcome students and introduce them to its academic departments and educational programmes.
The Department of Biochemistry continues to promote awareness of its academic specialisation and scientific significance, while encouraging students to begin their university journey with a clear understanding of their field of study and its future prospects.
