As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its academic standing and enhance its presence on the international stage, Al Mustaqbal University organized a scientific event to review its achievements in global rankings, examine academic and research performance indicators, and explore opportunities to advance institutional performance, competitiveness, and sustainability. The event was attended by the President of Al Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, the University Assistants, Deans of Colleges, Directors of Departments and Divisions, and a number of academic and administrative staff, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving the University’s strategic objectives. During the event, the University President emphasized that the achievements reflect the effectiveness of strategic planning and the integration of efforts across the University’s various academic and administrative units. He highlighted the importance of continued support for scientific research and high-quality academic publishing, expanding international cooperation, and utilizing performance indicators to establish priorities and achieve sustainable development. The event featured a series of specialized scientific presentations delivered by the Assistant President for Student Affairs and Educational Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi; the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi; the Director of the Scientific Affairs Department, Prof. Dr. Tariq Jawad Kadhim; and the Director of the Global Rankings Unit, Ali Abbas Zuwain. The presentations provided an analytical review of the University’s performance and achievements, highlighted key strengths, identified opportunities for improvement, and discussed strategies to further strengthen the University’s position in international rankings. The event also highlighted several significant milestones in the University’s progress, including achieving first place among private Iraqi universities in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings for Sustainability 2026, and entering the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027 for the first time, within the 1201–1400 global band, in addition to its results in research-based and subject-specific rankings. The event concluded with an emphasis on translating analytical findings into clear development plans based on measurable indicators and continuous monitoring mechanisms.
