Ms. Ghufran Abbas Hamza conducted an online workshop on Monday, 12 October 2026, entitled “The Iraqi High Criminal Court of 2005.” The workshop addressed the historical background and legal framework for the establishment of the court, the nature of its judicial jurisdiction, and its role in hearing cases falling within its legal mandate. The workshop aimed to introduce the legal foundations underpinning the court and highlight the role of judicial institutions in achieving justice and upholding the rule of law. It also sought to enhance participants’ legal knowledge of the court’s formation, jurisdiction, and key legal aspects. The workshop forms part of the efforts to support scientific and educational activities aimed at promoting legal awareness and fostering a deeper understanding of judicial institutions and their role in upholding justice and building a state governed by law and institutions.
