The 13th edition of the Babylon Festival for International Cultures and Arts kicked off this morning, Thursday, October 8, 2026, in the ancient city of Babylon. Held under the theme "We Are All Babylonians," the event is attended by local government officials and a distinguished group of Iraqi, Arab, and international artists and intellectuals.
Running until October 16, the festival features a diverse cultural and artistic program. Highlights include an international book fair, fine art exhibitions, poetry readings, and literary and cultural seminars, alongside artistic, musical, and theatrical performances—all featuring broad participation from Iraq, the Arab world, and the international community.
The Al-Mustaqbal University booth at the book fair attracted significant visitor interest, drawing crowds eager to explore the university’s publications and its academic and cultural achievements as part of its active participation in this cultural event.
The festival aims to bring together various forms of art and literature—including poetry, narrative arts, music, theater, cinema, and fine arts—alongside literary, intellectual, and artistic dialogues and folklore events. These activities reinforce Babylon’s status as a hub for cultural and civilizational exchange.
