Digital literacy has become an essential element of university education in the modern digital age. University students increasingly rely on digital technologies to access information and develop their academic skills. In learning English, digital literacy provides new opportunities to practice reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students can utilize online dictionaries, educational websites, digital libraries, and language learning applications. These resources enable learners to study English outside the traditional classroom environment. Digital literacy also helps students evaluate the reliability of information available on the internet. This skill is critical because not all online content is accurate or suitable for academic purposes. Students with strong digital literacy can select educational materials tailored to their specific needs. Furthermore, they can connect with other learners through online platforms and communities. This interaction increases their exposure to authentic English usage. Digital tools make learning English more flexible and accessible, allowing students to review lessons multiple times and learn at their own pace. Technology also offers various multimedia materials that enhance comprehension. Videos, podcasts, interactive activities, and online discussions can make the learning process more engaging. Additionally, digital literacy encourages students to become more independent learners; instead of relying entirely on the instructor, students can seek out additional explanations and examples. This independence can boost their confidence in using English. However, overreliance on technology may present certain challenges. Students need to develop critical thinking skills to distinguish between reliable educational sources and inaccurate information. Therefore, instructors play a crucial role in guiding students toward effective digital practices. Teachers can introduce students to suitable websites, applications, and strategies for language acquisition. Consequently, digital literacy should be considered a vital component of contemporary English language instruction. Developing these skills helps university students utilize technology more effectively in language learning and prepares them for academic and professional communication in an increasingly technology-driven world. Integrating digital literacy into English language education can significantly improve learning experiences and outcomes. Al-Mustaqbal University is ranked first among private Iraqi universities
