Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a new academic milestone by making its first appearance in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027 (THE WUR 2027), one of the world’s leading university rankings, placing it within the 1201–1400 global category.
This achievement follows an evaluation of universities based on a range of international indicators and criteria, including teaching quality, research, research environment, industry engagement, and international outlook.
According to the ranking results, which included 2,297 universities from 118 countries and regions, Al-Mustaqbal University ranked second in Iraq among universities classified outside the Kurdistan Region. It also ranked fourth in Iraq when universities in the Kurdistan Region are included, while securing first place among Iraqi private universities.
This global recognition reflects the university’s continued development in academic and research activities, the expansion of its international partnerships, and the advancement of its educational and research environment, further strengthening its position within the international higher education landscape.
President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majidi, affirmed that this achievement is the result of the continuous efforts of the university’s academic, administrative, and research units. He also praised the contributions of faculty members, researchers, staff, and students in achieving this international presence.
Al-Mustaqbal University’s entry into the THE World University Rankings 2027 represents a further step in its ongoing efforts to develop its academic and research system, strengthen its international engagement, and improve its institutional performance indicators.
