Medical Biotechnology Department Organizes an Awareness Campaign Titled “Women’s Education… An Investment in the Future”

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, Dean of the College of Science, the Medical Biotechnology Department at the College of Science organized a scientific and awareness campaign entitled “Women’s Education… An Investment in the Future” on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. The campaign aimed to raise awareness of the importance of women’s education and support their scientific, academic, and societal participation. The campaign featured a series of awareness activities highlighting the role of education in empowering women and enhancing their scientific knowledge and capabilities. It also emphasized the importance of women’s contributions to building an educated society capable of achieving sustainable development. In addition, the campaign encouraged female students to continue their educational journey, develop their scientific and professional skills, and actively engage in academic and research activities. The campaign also highlighted the importance of providing a supportive educational environment for women, encouraging innovation, creativity, and active participation in scientific and research activities, thereby strengthening their role within the educational institution and the wider community. The campaign was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Sara Raheem Hamza, Head of the Women’s Affairs Committee in the Medical Biotechnology Department, with the participation of the department’s staff and students, reflecting the department’s commitment to supporting initiatives that empower women and promote their scientific and academic role. This campaign reflects the commitment of the College of Science and the Medical Biotechnology Department to supporting scientific and awareness initiatives that reinforce the role of women in the academic environment, promote a culture of education, empowerment, and community engagement, and contribute to preparing qualified scientific professionals capable of serving society and advancing sustainable development. This activity is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 5: Gender Equality, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
