Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, inaugurated the Lab Mentor platform for smart laboratory education in the laboratories of the Department of Biochemistry at the College of Science, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision; Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, Dean of the College of Science; Dr. Nasser Abdul-Hassan Nasser, Head of the Department of Biochemistry; and Prof. Dr. Dakhel Nasser Taha, Head of the Medical Laboratories Unit. The initiative represents a significant step toward developing practical education and enhancing the use of modern technologies in the laboratory environment. The platform is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision of transitioning toward a smart university and reflects the University Presidency’s commitment to employing modern technologies and digital solutions to develop the educational and training environment. It contributes to conducting practical experiments efficiently and safely while supporting the automation of academic, administrative, and laboratory processes. The Lab Mentor platform provides comprehensive educational and instructional content that helps students become familiar with laboratory devices and equipment, their components and functions, understand their operating mechanisms and safety requirements, and follow the steps involved in conducting practical experiments. It serves as a smart tool that supports students inside the laboratory throughout the different stages of learning and practical application. The platform is one of the innovative student initiatives developed by students of the Al-Mustaqbal Student Research Club at Al-Mustaqbal University. It reflects the students’ ability to employ scientific knowledge and modern technologies to develop digital solutions that support the educational process and meet the requirements of smart university education. The launch of the platform represents a step toward developing the laboratory learning experience through a more interactive and organized model that integrates technology, practical education, and automation. This contributes to enhancing students’ skills in using laboratory technologies and equipment and improving their scientific and practical readiness. This project reaffirms Al-Mustaqbal University’s continued commitment to employing technology and innovation to develop its educational environment and translate its vision of building a smart and sustainable university that keeps pace with the rapid transformations in higher education and provides students with an advanced learning environment based on digital solutions and smart technologies.
