Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a new global academic and environmental milestone, adding to its distinguished record of excellence, the University ranked first among all private universities in Iraq and third among Iraqi public and private universities, according to the officially announced results of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2026 for green and sustainable universities. This international achievement reflects the significant success of the University’s strategic plans in promoting the principles and practical applications of sustainable development across its academic, administrative, and environmental sectors. It also highlights the University’s comprehensive transition towards a smart and environmentally friendly campus, in line with its established vision, “Towards a Sustainable University.” The rigorous global assessment is based on a range of precise indicators measuring infrastructure efficiency, energy and climate change management, waste and water management, transportation, as well as the scope of education and research dedicated to environmental and sustainability issues.
