Held on September 18, 2026, Al-Mustaqbal University conducted a virtual meeting bringing together University President Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, representatives of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in the United States, and OHLA Institute, a strategic partner in TOEFL/ETS testing, to discuss prospects for joint cooperation in developing students’ and graduates’ language and academic skills. The meeting discussed the possibility of developing and implementing specialized training programs aimed at improving participants’ English language proficiency in line with their academic and professional needs. The proposed programs would also include TOEFL preparation, the development of English communication skills for business purposes, and support for students seeking to pursue postgraduate studies at international universities and educational institutions. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision; Dr. Hussein Al-Sheikh, representative of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché; Dr. Alaa Shaker; representatives of OHLA Institute, Jenny Nevin, Mahsa Tavakoli, and Karin Gahramaniants; as well as Prof. Dr. Wael Al-Nadawi, Director of the Continuing Education Center, along with several staff members from the center and the University Presidency. The University President emphasized that the cooperation represents an important step toward providing flexible training pathways that accommodate participants’ different proficiency levels and objectives. He also highlighted the importance of benefiting from international expertise in English language education and skills development in accordance with internationally recognized standards, thereby enhancing students’ and graduates’ readiness to engage in global academic and professional environments. This cooperation is part of the University’s efforts to expand its international partnerships and provide greater opportunities for academic and professional development. It also contributes to enhancing the quality of education and preparing students for labor market requirements, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education and SDG 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth.
