**Al-Mustaqbal University Reviews Its Academic and Scientific Affairs and Sets Priorities for the Next Phase**

Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, held an extensive meeting with a number of directors of departments and units at the University Presidency, in the presence of Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, to follow up on a number of scientific and academic matters, review performance levels, and identify work priorities for the upcoming phase. The meeting was held on September 12, 2026. The meeting discussed performance and achievement indicators across a range of areas related to academic development and scientific research, emphasizing the importance of utilizing data and performance indicators to evaluate outcomes and support decision-making. This approach contributes to improving performance quality and strengthening the University’s competitiveness both locally and internationally. The University President directed the preparation of periodic analytical reports containing measurable indicators to monitor performance development, particularly in the areas of local and international academic and scientific partnerships, scientific research and publication in reputable scholarly journals, the University’s presence in global university rankings, as well as capacity-building programs and the development of students’ and graduates’ skills in line with labor market requirements. He also emphasized the importance of activating academic and scientific partnerships and moving them beyond agreements and memoranda of understanding toward the implementation of joint programs and projects with measurable outcomes and impact. He further stressed the need to support applied research and expand its scope in ways that contribute to addressing real-world challenges and serving development needs. The meeting also addressed ways to enhance the role of the Science and Technology Parks Department and strengthen its position as an environment that supports innovation, applied research, and entrepreneurship. Discussions also focused on developing cooperation between the University and public- and private-sector institutions, thereby creating greater opportunities to transform research and knowledge outputs into applications with economic and societal value. The meeting comes within Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing efforts to develop its academic and scientific work system based on planning, monitoring, and continuous evaluation, while maximizing the use of performance indicators in developing programs and projects. These efforts aim to enhance the quality of the University’s outcomes and strengthen its academic and scientific presence at both the local and international levels. Al-Mustaqbal University – Iraq’s No. 1 University
