Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, paid an official visit to GITEX AI Türkiye 2026, held in Istanbul, Türkiye, from September 9 to 10, 2026, on his way back from his academic tour of Europe. The visit aimed to explore the latest global technological developments and strengthen international partnerships in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital transformation. During the visit, the President explored the latest technologies and innovations in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and educational technology. Discussions also focused on ways to utilise these technologies to enhance the university’s educational and research environment in line with the requirements of modern higher education. On the sidelines of the exhibition, the President met with representatives of several leading Turkish and international technology companies, as well as technology and innovation centres, including Teknopark Ankara and Antalya Teknokent. The meetings explored prospects for joint cooperation, the exchange of expertise, and the adoption of smart technologies to support academic curricula and scientific laboratories, while advancing innovation and technological development at Al-Mustaqbal University. Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi emphasised that the university’s participation in international technology forums is part of a strategic vision aimed at expanding its global partnership network, opening new opportunities for students and researchers, and equipping them with Al-Mustaqbal-ready skills that meet the demands of the global labour market and rapidly evolving digital transformation.
