Al-Mustaqbal University Highlights Iraq’s Presence at EAIE 2026 in Glasgow

Al-Mustaqbal University, represented by its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, participated in the 36th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the European Association for International Education (EAIE 2026), held at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC Centre) in Glasgow, United Kingdom, from September 8 to 11, 2026, under the theme “The Rhythm of Revolution.” The university’s participation in this major international event highlights Iraq’s presence at one of Europe’s leading platforms dedicated to international education. Al-Mustaqbal University represented the Iraqi academic sector within the FEDE Pavilion (Booth F29), where it showcased its academic programs and educational disciplines, which include 55 academic programs across various fields. The university’s pavilion attracted significant interest and interaction from representatives of participating universities and educational institutions. It provided an opportunity to highlight Al-Mustaqbal University’s academic and research capabilities in Babylon, Iraq, while also showcasing aspects of Iraq’s rich cultural and civilizational heritage, reflecting the connection between the country’s authentic identity and its modern educational advancement. Al-Mustaqbal University participated alongside leading international universities and educational institutions from around the world, including France, Germany, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, and other countries. The event provided an important platform for exploring opportunities for academic cooperation, developing international partnerships, and strengthening student, academic, and research exchange programs. Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, emphasized that the university’s participation in international academic forums is part of its commitment to building sustainable institutional partnerships that can translate into programs, projects, and meaningful opportunities for its students and researchers. He also highlighted the importance of international engagement and keeping pace with global developments in higher education. On the sidelines of the conference and exhibition, Al-Mustaqbal University held a series of meetings with participating universities and educational institutions, resulting in the signing of a number of bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding. These agreements aim to develop joint academic programs, enhance academic and research exchange, expand opportunities for international cooperation, and adopt the latest global trends and strategies in the internationalization of higher education. This participation is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision to strengthen its presence and position within international academic forums and expand its network of partnerships with leading global universities and educational institutions. It also aims to provide valuable opportunities for its students, academic staff, and researchers while supporting the university’s continued pursuit of excellence and international engagement in higher education.
