Al-Mustaqbal University, represented by its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, participated in the 36th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the European Association for International Education (EAIE 2026), held at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC Centre) in Glasgow, United Kingdom, from September 8 to 11, 2026, under the theme “The Rhythm of Revolution,” with broad participation from universities and educational institutions from around the world. The participation of Al-Mustaqbal University represents a significant academic presence for Iraq at one of Europe’s leading international events dedicated to higher education and academic cooperation. The university was the participating Iraqi academic institution within the FEDE Pavilion (Booth F29), where it showcased its academic programs and educational and research capabilities, comprising 55 educational programs, while highlighting its academic experience and ongoing efforts to advance higher education. The university’s pavilion presented its academic identity from Babylon, Iraq, highlighting the country’s rich cultural and civilizational heritage and showcasing the integration of Iraq’s historical legacy with contemporary developments in higher education. This reflects the university’s vision of presenting an academic model that combines national identity with openness to modern international educational experiences. The university participated alongside leading universities and educational institutions from numerous countries, including France, Germany, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, and others. This provided valuable opportunities for academic networking and exploring prospects for international cooperation in areas such as educational program development, student exchange, academic mobility, and research partnerships. Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, emphasized that participation in international academic forums aims to “build sustainable institutional partnerships that translate into programs, projects, and real opportunities for our students and researchers,” thereby strengthening the university’s presence within the global higher education landscape and advancing its commitment to internationalization and sustainable partnerships. As part of its participation, Al-Mustaqbal University signed a number of bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding with participating universities and institutions. These agreements aim to expand academic and research cooperation, strengthen exchange and academic mobility programs, explore opportunities for developing joint academic programs, exchange expertise, and keep pace with global trends and strategies in the internationalization of higher education. Al-Mustaqbal University’s participation in EAIE 2026 is aligned with its strategic vision of expanding its international partnership network, strengthening its presence in global academic forums, and creating new opportunities for its students, researchers, and academic staff. This contributes to advancing the quality of education and scientific research and further consolidating the university’s position within the global higher education landscape.
